Mutaali Al-Mujahid
Director of Healing
Ali Al-Mujahid spearheads the development of our trauma-informed services, our program with second chance employers, and the co-creation of HBV headquarters into a community center. Ali has worked with individuals, groups and families for over 10 years in the Bridgeport area. He has worked in psychiatric settings, residential and outpatient facilities. He also has experience facilitating reentry workshops to the incarcerated. He has worked with individuals from various racial, ethnic and gender backgrounds. He has experience working with underprivileged youth in a specialized vocational setting. Ali has training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Men’s Trauma Empowerment. He is passionate about his work and enjoys implementing evidence based practices. Ali believes in a client centered approach in which individuals will acquire the ability to help themselves into a place of hope and healing.
Ali Al-Mujahid is a graduate of Springfield College with a BS in Human Services. He has completed trainings in NARCAN, Men’s Trauma Recovery, Problem Gambling, Overdose Prevention, Suicide Prevention, Vicarious Trauma, De-escalation Techniques, Mental Health First Aid, Co-occuring Disorders, Introduction to DSM-5, Stages of Change, M.A.T.S., CPR/First Aid.
